The Lian Dante Foundation offers internship opportunities for college students. Opportunities abound to develop and refine skills/knowledge in social work, client services, grant writing, creative arts, marketing and social media. Meet our current interns!

  • JaNia Guy

    Howard University School of Social Work – Master’s Level Intern

    JaNia Guy resides in Indiana. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human services with a minor in Sociology from Purdue Fort Wayne. She has worked with case management, grief, inpatient hospitals, individuals with disabilities and children. She wants to specialize in grief counseling. She enjoys spending time with her friends and traveling.

    She also enjoys binge watching TV shows. JaNia enjoys giving back to her community and helping others.

    Howard University School of Social Work - Master’s Level Intern

    Alexcia Reid is a second-year Master of Social Work (MSW) student at Howard University, currently completing her clinical internship with a strong focus on trauma, mental health interventions, and advocacy. With over a decade of experience, she specializes in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, autism, and domestic violence, with a particular focus on marginalized communities. Her work is centered on providing comprehensive support to individuals facing complex challenges, ensuring they receive the care and resources needed to thrive.

    In addition to her internship, Alexcia serves as a Patient Service Supervisor at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in the Neurobehavioral Health Department. In this role, she collaborates closely with clinicians, therapists, behavioral specialists, doctors, and nurses to support children with autism, developmental disabilities, intellectual challenges, and mental health disorders. Her hands-on experience in interdisciplinary teams has strengthened her expertise in client-centered care, behavioral management, and holistic therapeutic approaches.

    Alexcia’s passion for the field is driven by her core belief that no one is more human than anyone else. She finds fulfillment in witnessing the transformative impact of ability-focused interventions and is dedicated to empowering individuals to reach their fullest potential. Through her work, she strives to create meaningful change, advocate for equitable services, and enhance the quality of life for those she serves.

    University of Massachusetts Global - Master’s Level Intern

    Sarah Zamarron resides in Houston, Texas. After completing her bachelor’s degree in social work at the University of Massachusetts Global, she is now returning to LDF to complete her Master’s Degree internship. While looking for a career change Sarah discovered her passion for social work while advocating for her own son. After becoming a mentor for at-risk students at Communities in Schools, Sarah is now pursuing a career within a school setting. Having been a military spouse for over ten years, she would also like to continue her education and clinically work with veterans.

    Sonja (She/her) lives in the Houston, Texas and has two beautiful girls. Sonja currently works for a 24 hour residential facility with at risk and pregnant teens in the foster care system. Sonja plans to expand her scope by working with and advocating for the one's with disabilities. MSW program at Capella University and looks to enhance her knowledge and skills to become a licensed Clinical Social Worker.

    Clarissa Alexander resides in Houston, Texas. She is a wife and a mother of 3 children. Clarissa graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor's in Psychology. Currently she is a caseworker with Child Protective Services working with children and families. She has experience in the medical field where she worked as an nurse assistant where the spark to her fire began. She has always had a passion for fulfilling the needs of others but since working with CPS she has decided to continue her education to receive her Master's in Social Work. Daily she has seen the lack in the system and how children and adults with mental health, and systematic oppression are failed. Upon graduating Clarissa will be pursuing her licensure in clinical social work and will be opening her own faith based practice. When not working or doing school work Clarissa loves being around her family, traveling, creating vegan recipes and reading books. 

  • Stage Tangyie

    Fordham University College of Social Work - Master’s Level Intern

    Stage Tangyie Resides in Houston Texas but her country of origin is Cameroon, West Africa. She currently has an Associates degree in Nursing and a  Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration. Stage found her passion for social work through social media by her post advocating for women's rights and her interests in mental health and other social welfare issues. Her identical twin sister brought this passion to light as she is in the works of opening a virtual mental health clinic and she is in need of a psychotherapist which actually sparked Stage' interest more and she decided to do a Master's in Social Work at Fordham University in New York. Stage also has a passion for supporting vulnerable populations and she is determined to address inequalities amongst these vulnerable populations by advocating for them. Stage recently got engaged. She has no kids but hopes to have kids someday. Stage is a social butterfly and she loves to travel and explore the world. She also loves to spend time with her family and friends. 

Ana Lopez-Juarez

University of Houston - GCSW - Master’s of Social Work

Ana Lopez Juarez is a 7th-grade English Language Arts (ELA) teacher at YES Prep Northline- Secondary, where she is dedicated to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for her students. She holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) and is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work at the University of Houston.

Ana is passionate about providing a sense of hope and support, especially to children, and aims to become a clinical social worker or therapist in the future. Her ultimate goal is to build a recreational center that offers essential services to low-income neighborhoods.

Currently based in Houston, Texas, Ana is available for consultations or collaborations from Wednesday to Friday, 5 PM to 10 PM, and on weekends from 9 AM to 5 PM. Outside of work, she enjoys working out and serving her community through her leadership position with the Houston Alumnae Association of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Inc.
