Janiva Henderson
School of Social work Texas & M - Commerce Master’s Level Intern
Originally from Mississippi, I relocated to Houston, Texas, after earning a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Mississippi State University. I'm currently attending Texas A&M Commerce to obtain my master's degree in social work. Due to social workers are needed in a wide range of settings, including hospitals, government agencies, nonprofit groups, private practices, and many more, I chose to pursue a career in social work. I believed that being a social worker would be a wonderful career choice for me since I wanted a path that would always challenge me. A career in social work also fits with my caring, compassionate, and empathic personality. My goal is to be the person who makes a positive difference in someone else's life. My goal is to obtain a clinical license and start a private practice after receiving my degree, but I also frequently consider working in various settings.
